Vasundhara Raje Scindia won the Jhalrapatan assembly constituency in Rajasthan in the 2023 assembly elections. She defeated Congress candidate Ramlal Chouhan by a margin of 53,193 votes. This is her fifth consecutive victory from the Jhalrapatan constituency.
Raje is a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 2003 to 2008 and again from 2013 to 2018. She is considered to be a popular leader in Rajasthan and her victory is seen as a boost for the BJP in the state.
The BJP won a majority of seats in the 2023 Rajasthan assembly elections, defeating the Congress. This is the BJP’s second consecutive victory in the state.
