The Game Awards 2023 Nominations Announced: Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3 Lead the Pack

The nominees for the 10th annual Game Awards have been announced, with survival-horror title Alan Wake 2 and role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 leading the pack with eight nominations each, including Game of the Year. The other nominees for Game of the Year are Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Nintendo is the most nominated publisher in 2023 with 15 nominations, followed by Sony Interactive Entertainment/PlayStation with 13, Xbox with 10, and Epic Games with nine.

The nominees are selected by a global jury of individuals from more than 100 media publications and influencer outlets. Fans can also help choose the winners by voting online at thegameawards.com.

The Game Awards will stream live from the Peacock Theater in L.A. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, across more than 30 platforms including YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, TikTok Live, and X (aka Twitter). The event will feature premiere announcements and trailers, live music performances, and celebrity appearances.
